We are happy to present the main events that were held during July at The International FoodTech Center in Kiryat Shmona.
We thank all our partners in Israel and worldwide.

This month, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, the city Kiryat Shmona, entered the list of the top 1,000 cities in building an ecosystem for startups! Exciting!

We were pleased to meet new partners in New York and Chicago, to introduce them to our activity, and to connect them to our pioneering work in the Galilee!

Economic Development

Ziv Medical Center Innovation Unit

The Steering Committee of the newly formed Innovation Center of the Ziv Medical Center in Zefat, made up of the leading department heads in the hospital, gathered at Margalit Startup City Galil for their launch event. Prof. Salman Zarka, the head of the center, and Inbar Bijinsky, CEO of the commercial arm of the center, were present, as well as Idan Harpaz from Margalit Startup City, who also serves as the head of the Committee.

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Visit

We were happy to host the Investment and Finance team from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. We presented our model for connecting startups to local farmers and in forming successful collaborations!

Meetup with FreshStart and Deloitte

We had the honor to host a meetup on “Non-dilutive Grants and Tax Strategies for Startups” together with our partners Deloitte and FreshStart from the food-tech incubator in the Galilee. Anat Nitzan, head of incentives support services at Deloitte, and Ilan Samish - CEO and founder of AMai Proteins shared their know-how and experience with the startups.

Forel Hadan’s leadership
meeting with Halophilix and Margalit Startup City Galil

The management team of Forel Hadan, the largest trout farm in Israel, came to Margalit Startup City to hear about the regional activity we are spearheading and to learn about the Studio.Galil program and the Agri-food tech association. Halophilix presented the initiation of their first collaboration between the two companies. The first collaboration between a startup company that was built in the Studio.Galil and a traditional kibbutz industry in the Upper Galilee. A first of, hopefully, many to come!

All the way from Canada

We enjoyed presenting our center’s activity and discussing the potential for future collaboration in a unique exposure event for principals and educators from the Galilee and from six communities in Canada: Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottowa and Halifax.

Leadership Program 

Sixteen participants of a seminar on regional leadership came for an inspirational visit to learn more about our activity and how it leads to economic development alongside impactful social programming and activity.

JLIM - JNFUTURE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE MISSION

Sixteen participants from the JLIM – JNFUTURE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE MISSION visited us. They learned up close about the latest developments of the promising Foodtech companies in the Galilee and enjoyed some delicious tastings as well!

Lou and Logan Cortes visit
the Galilee

Lou and Logan Cortes, Dear supporters and longtime ambassadors of Israel, came for a visit. We were happy to host them and introduce them to Galilean young entrepreneurs, such as Yonatan Elimelech, CEO of the startup WITI, and Klil Benyamini, CEO of Blue Huna.

Alexander Muss High School

Eighty students from the Alexander Muss High School, participating in a summer program in Israel, enjoyed a visit to our hub to learn more about the Israeli innovation taking place in the Galilee and to meet some of the local startups up close.

Australian Women Leaders Delegation

We were pleased to host a delegation of Australian businesswomen, on a visit to Israel led by the Israel-Australia Chamber of Commerce. The objective of the visit was to meet with leaders in the Israeli economy and to benefit from a first-hand experience of the various elements of the local innovation eco-system.

Zusman family visit 

It was such an honor to present the latest development in the Galilee to the family who were early pioneers of the Galilee and partnered with us from very early on in our journey. Michael and Ula Zusman, we are so appreciative and grateful to you for your partnership and ongoing friendship, and we look forward to seeing you again soon on your next visit!
